Executive Summary

This video is all about how you can potentially snag a Scroll token airdrop, which could be worth thousands, by actively participating in their testnet. The cool part? It's completely free because you're not spending any real money on gas fees. Scroll is working on a cutting-edge zkEVM technology that's fully compatible with Ethereum, aiming for super-fast transactions and lower fees on the mainnet. Right now, the focus is on generating transaction history on their alpha testnet to position yourself for a future airdrop.

Here’s the rundown on what you need to do:

  • Why Scroll is an Airdrop Goldmine: In the current competitive crypto landscape, many ZK-based projects are launching, and they are likely to give out significant tokens to early users to gain market share. This makes Scroll, a prominent zkEVM project, a prime candidate for a generous airdrop. While it's in its alpha testnet phase, which means it's still early and completely free to use (no real gas fees!), there's a 50/50 chance that testnet activities will count towards a potential airdrop. However, the good news is that other projects, like Aptos, have given out airdrops to testnet users, so there's hope for Scroll too. The main goal is to generate as much transaction history as possible on their testnet.

  • Getting Started with MetaMask Setup:

    • First, head over to the Scroll.io portal page and connect both the Goerli testnet and the Scroll Alpha testnet to your MetaMask wallet.
    • You'll need some testnet ETH for the Goerli network. A great resource is FaucetLink, which compiles various faucets you can use to claim small amounts of Goerli ETH daily.
    • Here’s a neat trick for more Goerli ETH: use Zeta Chain to swap other testnet tokens (especially testnet BNB, which usually gives the best swap ratio) into Goerli ETH.
    • Once you have enough Goerli ETH, bridge it over to the Scroll Alpha testnet, which is their Layer 2 network. This process might take about 10 minutes depending on network congestion, but it's usually quick.
  • Playing Around with Scroll DApps (Decentralized Applications):

    • After bridging your ETH, you can start interacting with dApps on the Scroll testnet. Scroll has onboarded some of the biggest DeFi protocols from Ethereum, so these are the ones to focus on.
    • Uniswap: Use the specific Uniswap v3 link for Scroll's testnet, as it's separate from the main Uniswap app. Connect your wallet to Scroll Alpha. You should swap your ETH for other available tokens and also provide liquidity by depositing a token pair. Since it's free on the testnet, you're encouraged to repeat this process as frequently as you can to build up your transaction history.
    • Other Major DEXs (Decentralized Exchanges): There are many other significant DEXs on Scroll, such as Dodo Exchange, Nest Protocol, iZiSwap, and SyncSwap. For these, ensure you are on the Scroll Alpha testnet and simply repeat the same process as Uniswap: swap tokens, provide liquidity, and even try yield farming if that option is available.
    • Aave: The popular lending protocol, Aave, is also testing on Scroll. When you're on Aave, make sure to toggle on "testnet mode" in the top right corner. This will show you all available testnets, where you can select Scroll Alpha. You can then supply some ETH and borrow other assets. The beauty here is that you don't have to worry about liquidation since these are just testnet tokens with no real value. The main goal is just to get those transactions recorded.
    • General DApp Interaction and Caution: While sticking to these major dApps is safer, interacting with a variety of smart contracts across different projects within the Scroll ecosystem can be more favorable for qualifying for an airdrop. However, it's crucial to exercise caution: not all projects on Scroll are vetted by Scroll themselves. Always do your own thorough research before connecting your wallet to any dApp to avoid connecting to malicious or risky websites.
  • Getting the Scroll Guild OG Role (The Cherry on Top):

    • The last thing you should do is go to the Scroll Guild page to try and get the "Scroll OG role."
    • You'll need to connect your wallet and verify your Twitter and Discord accounts to gain access to the Guild page.
    • The requirements for the Scroll OG role are pretty straightforward: you just need to follow them on Twitter and verify that you're human in the Scroll.io Discord server.
    • Many people in the Scroll Discord community speculate that having the Scroll OG role will be extremely important for securing an airdrop. Since this role is connected to your wallet, it serves as proof that you've been an early and dedicated supporter of Scroll.
  • Final Thoughts on Mainnet vs. Testnet: While activities on the mainnet are generally more likely to qualify for airdrops, Scroll's mainnet launch is still a ways off, probably sometime next year. So, for now, participating in the testnet is a "win-win" scenario. It doesn't cost you anything, and if your testnet activities are eventually counted, you've potentially secured free tokens. The team will provide updates in the future on the most cost-effective ways to interact with the Scroll mainnet once it launches, to ensure you don't burn through your ETH on gas fees.

So guys, today we have quite an interesting airdrop for you, which is Skrull. So over the past year, you guys have been asking me, you know, what's the best opportunity to get free coins and free cryptocurrencies? And this year, what we figured is that there's a lot of ZK-based projects that are launching. And because it's so competitive, we figured that these are the projects that will give out the most tokens in order to win the war, which is great news for us. So anyways, we got Ron here. So Ron has been researching nonstop on the best kind of ways to generate that transaction history and the steps to do so. So Ron, take it from here. Thank you guys. All right. Skrull is in its alpha testnet phase right now, which means we are still very early. Now the plus side is that it is testnet. It's completely free. You don't have to pay any real money to use for gas fees. And I'm a huge fan of testnet airdrops because that is where the real money is at. Now the downside is that because it's testnet activities for such a massive project like Skrull, it's a 50-50 chance that it's going to be counted towards the airdrop. Now don't forget though, that Aptos did give away airdrops to testnet users. So let's pray to God that they will do the same for Skrull as well. So I'm going to keep this video very short, very straightforward on what you can do on the Skrull testnet. Let's go. First up, head on over to the portal page at Skrull.io. All of the links will be down in the description below. Don't we got you covered. Connect both of these testnets to your MetaMask. Now you'll need to fund your Gourly with some testnet ETH. So a very good site is FaucetLink. It has all of the faucets that you can use to claim a very small amount of Gourly ETH once a day. Now a very good trick that I use if you want more Gourly ETH is you can also use Zeta Chain to swap other testnet tokens to Gourly ETH. Especially testnet BNB, they give you the highest swap ratio. Now once you have enough Gourly ETH, bridge them over to Skrull Alpha testnet which is your layer 2. Now it might take a while for your ETH to appear depending on how busy the network is but it's usually around 10 minutes. Once the bridging is successful, you can now play around with the dApps on Skrull testnet. Over the past year, Skrull has onboarded some of the biggest DeFi protocols from Ethereum. So we will be focusing on some of those dApps. Starting with Uniswap. It's on a separate platform from the Uniswap app because it's still in testing phase. So make sure you're on the correct link and connect your wallet to Skrull Alpha. Swap your ETH to any one of these tokens available and you can also provide liquidity by depositing a token pair. And that's pretty much all you have to do for Uniswap on Skrull. Repeat this process as frequently as you can because it's testnet. It's free. Go nuts! Apart from Uniswap, there are many other big DEXs on Skrull. Whoa, pause. Such as Dodo Exchange, Nest Protocol, Izyswap, SyncSwap, and many more. But make sure you're on Skrull Alpha testnet on these DEXs and just repeat the same process as Uniswap. Swap tokens, provide liquidity, and you can also yield farm if they have that option. All right, the next dApp is Aave. Yes, the biggest lending protocol in the world is now trying it out on Skrull. So once you're on Aave, make sure that you head on over to the top right screen and toggle on testnet mode. That's when you'll see all the available testnets that Aave is deployed on. Toggle on Skrull Alpha, start supplying some ETH, and you can basically borrow as many assets as you want. You don't even have to worry about being liquidated. It's testnet tokens. They're not worth anything. As long as you get that transactions going, you're already good to go. So just stick to those dApps if you want to play it safe. Now it is true that Skrull has hundreds of different projects deployed on their ecosystem, and it is generally more favorable if you interact with different smart contracts. So you just start playing around with different dApps. But there is a risk of connecting to bad websites, okay? So not all of these projects are vetted by Skrull themselves. So make sure you do your own research, and I cannot stress this enough, okay? Before you start connecting your wallet into their app. Now the last thing you can do, that cherry on top, is you can go to the Skrull guild page and get the Skrull OG role. So you'll need to connect with your wallet, verify with your Twitter, and your Discord to gain access to the Skrull guild page. The requirements to qualify for the Skrull OG role is very easy. You just have to follow them on Twitter and verify that you are indeed human in the Skrull.io server. So very easy. And a lot of people on the Skrull Discord have speculated that the Skrull OG will definitely be crucial in getting that airdrop. And for sure, because it's connected to your wallet, they know that you've been an early supporter of Skrull since the beginning. So there's going to be an airdrop, your name is on the list. Now, that goes without saying, mainnet activities are more likely to qualify for the airdrop, but it is still a very long way to go for Skrull sometime next year. So for the time being, testnet, it doesn't hurt, right? If it's included, then it's a win-win. But we will definitely update you guys in the future when Skrull launches their mainnet, and we will find the most cost-effective way to interact with the Skrull mainnet so you don't burn out your ETH for gas, right? And that's it for the video. I hope you guys find it very helpful. If you want more info on the Skrull testnet, we have a full guide on boxmining.com showing you step-by-step on how to use the Skrull testnet.
